The authors construct a family of interpolating rational functions, on the real line, that can have arbitrarily high order of approximation. The authors manage the classical obstacle of the occurrence of poles for approximating rational functions by increasing the dimension of the rational functions to construct approximates with no real poles. The functions are a blend of polynomial interpolates with barycentric form rational functions acting as blending functions.
