    Control theory is an interdisciplinary branch of engineering and mathematics that deals with influence behavior of dynamical systems. In recent years, various control problems for different types of infinite dimensional both linear and nonlinear dynamic systems described by abstract differential equations have been considered in many publications and monographs. The reviewed monograph is devoted to a systematic study of control problems for dynamical systems governed by abstract linear differential equations with constant parameters. The reviewed monograph has 213 pages and contains 13 chapters divided into many sections and subsections. Chapter 1 contains a short introduction and survey on infinite dimensional dynamical systems governed mainly by partial differential equations. In Chapter 2, mathematical models of infinite dimensional dynamical systems are considered. Moreover, port-Hamiltonian systems are formally defined and their properties are discussed. Chapter 3 is devoted to controllability problems of linear finite-dimensional dynamical systems with constant parameters. Chapter 4 contains study of stability and feedback stabilization of linear finite-dimensional dynamical systems with constant parameters. Chapter 5 presents selected mathematical tools taken directly from functional analysis and concerning strongly continuous semigroups and their infinitesimal generators defined in Hilbert spaces. Similarly, Chapter 6 is addressed to the theory of contraction and unitary semigroups in Hilbert spaces. In Chapter 7, the techniques of semigroups are devoted to a study of homogeneous port-Hamiltonian systems. Chapter 8 contains results of stability for linear abstract differential equations defined in Hilbert spaces. Spectral projections and invariant subspaces are also discussed. In the next Chapter 9, the exponential stability of port-Hamiltonian systems is studied. In Chapter 10, the Cauchy problem for linear abstract differential equations is discussed. Moreover, the exponential stabilizability problem is formulated and solved. In Chapter 11, boundary control systems are considered. Using methods taken directly from the theory of linear unbounded operators, the mathematical description of boundary control systems is presented and next used as mathematical model of port-Hamiltonian systems. In Chapter 12, the concept of transfer functions for linear abstract control systems with constant coefficients is introduced. Next basic properties of transfer functions for port-Hamiltonian systems are discussed. Chapter 13 contains the concept of well-posedness of the abstract linear infinite-dimensional control systems. Well-posedness for boundary control systems and for port-Hamiltonian systems is considered. Finally, it should be pointed out, that the reviewed monograph contains many remarks and comments on abstract linear infinite-dimensional control systems and examples, which illustrate theoretical considerations
