The authors consider the solution of steady state convection diffusion equations in n-dimensions by transforming such equations to a selfadjoint form and hence, by using Green's second identity, to an integral equation defined on the boundary of the original region. The resulting equation is then discretized using either constant or linear boundary elements. This technique is demonstrated by applying it to a simple example, defined on the unit square, and the results obtained are compared with standard and upwind finite element methods.
