Dual pairs of locally convex ordered cones are considered and compactness in such cones is explored. It is proved that a subset of a cone is weakly (upper-, lower-, symmetric) compact if and only if it is weakly (upper-, lower-, symmetric) compact with respect to all coarsest weak topologies. This is used to characterize weakly compact subsets in products and direct sums of cones.
