In the paper under review, the authors study some properties of difference polynomials. Some results of \textit{K. Liu} and \textit{I. Laine} [Bull. Aust. Math. Soc. 81, No. 3, 353--360 (2010; Zbl 1201.30035)] are improved; the authors also show, by means of some examples, that these results are best possible.
