Given a positive integer \(t\), we regard the cyclic group \(\mathbb Z/t\) of order \(t\) as the group of \(t\)th roots of unity in the unit circle. The standard \(\mathbb Z/t\) action on \(S^{2n+1}\subset \mathbb C^{n+1}\) yields the diagonal action on the product \(S^{2n_1+1}\times \cdots \times S^{2n_r+1}\), and we denote by \(L(t; n_1, \ldots, n_r)\) the orbit space of the action. We can also consider the diagonal \(S^1\)-action and get the orbit space \(L(\infty; n_1, \ldots, n_r)\). The authors evaluate cohomology rings (for all \(\mathbb C\)-oriented cohomology theories) of these spaces, and the Steenrod algebra action for ordinary \(\mathbb Z/2\)-cohomology. Furthermore, they estimate topological complexity and Lusternik--Schnirelmann category of the spaces \(L(t; n_1, \ldots n_r), t\leq \infty\).
