The author gives a set of generators and relations for the so-called ring of conditions of conics. This ring has been introduced in the context of the study of enumerative questions such as the question how many plane conics are simultaneously tangent to five given conics in general position \textit{C. De Concini} and \textit{C. Procesi} [in: Invariant theory, Invariant theory, Proc. 1st 1982 Sess. C.I.M.E., Montecatini/Italy, Lect. Notes Math. 996, 1--44 (1983; Zbl 0581.14041)]. The description of the ring of conditions of conics is achieved by first studying its equivariant version (with respect to \(\mathrm{PGL}(3)\)).
