The authors develop a multilevel Schwarz preconditioner in the partition of unity method setting that provides even uniformly bounded condition numbers for elliptic boundary value problems. They derive conditions under which uniformly bounded condition numbers are obtained, on a given multilevel partition of unity hierarchy.
