Let \(X_1 \bigotimes_\alpha X_2\) denote the completion of the algebraic tensor product of the Banach spaces \(X_1\) and \(X_2\) with respect to some reasonable crossnorm \(\alpha\). The authors study dyadic operators on tensor products, i.e., bounded operators \(T\) on \(X_1 \bigotimes_\alpha X_2\) that are of the form \(T_1 \otimes T_2\), where \(T_i\) is a bounded operator on \(X_i\), \(i=1,2\). A characterization of norm Hermitian operators \(S\), i.e., \(\{e^{itS}\}_{t \in \mathbb{R}}\) defines a one-parameter group of isometries, on tensor products where every surjective isometry is dyadic is given. This is used to characterize bi-circular and generalized bi-circular projections on tensor products which only support dyadic surjective isometries.
