This paper deals with componentwise perturbation bounds of matrix inverse and linear systems. Sharp bounds for the componentwise perturbation of a matrix inverse and linear systems -- especially for nonsingular \(M\)-matrices -- are presented. Matrix derivatives are used to deduce the matrix componentwise condition number. Results of computational experiments are presented. These show that the new bounds on \(M\)-matrices are much sharper that earlier results.
