The authors consider a generalized higher-order neutral differential equation of the form \[ \left( \varphi_p \left( x(t)-c x(t-\tau)\right)^{(l)}\right)^{(n-l)}=F\left( t,x(t),x'(t), \dots , x^{(l-1)}(t)\right), \] where \(n\in\mathbb{N}\), \(1\leq l \leq n\), \(\varphi_p:\mathbb{R}\to\mathbb{R}\) is given by \(\varphi_p(s)=|s|^{p-2}s\) with a constant \(p\geq 2\), \(\tau\) is a constant, \(F\) is a continuous function, \(T\)-periodic in its first variable and that satisfies some additional hypotheses. Using a continuation theorem from the coincidence degree theory and some inequalities in order to assure a priori bounds, the existence of a \(T\)-periodic solution of the above equation is proved.
