Let \(C\subset\mathbb{R}^{n}\) be a pointed closed convex cone and \(P_{C}\) be the metric projection onto \(C\). The metric projection is called \(C\)-isotone if \(x\leq_{C}y\) implies \(P_{C}(x)\leq P_{C}(y)\), \(x,y\in\mathbb{R}^{n}\). The projection mapping \(P_{C}\) is called \(C\)-subadditive if \(P_{C}(x+y)\leq _{C}P_{C}(x)+P_{C}(y)\), for all \(x,y\in\mathbb{R}^{n}\). Two pointed closed convex cones \(K\) and \(L\) in \(\mathbb{R}^{n}\) are mutually dual if \(L=K^{\ast}\) (and hence \(L^{\ast}=K)\), where \(K^{\ast}:=\{y\in\mathbb{R}^{n}:(x,y)\geq0\), \(\forall x\in K\}\). The main result of the paper is: Theorem 1. Let \(K\) and \(L\) be mutually dual pointed closed convex cones in \(\mathbb{R}^{n}.\) Then, the following assertions are equivalent: \begin{itemize} \item(1) \(P_{K}\) is \(K\)-isotone \item (2) \(P_{L}\) is \(L\)-subadditive; \item (3) \(L\) is a simplicial cone generated by the edges with mutually non-acute angles.\end{itemize}
