A new Hermite-Hadamard inequality for convex and \(s\)-convex functions is derived, proved and discussed. The result obtained generalized \textit{Z. Retkes}'s [Acta Sci. Math. 74, No. 1--2, 95--106 (2008; Zbl 1174.26008)].
