This paper is dedicated to study initial boundary value problem for the parabolic-hyperbolic equation \[ \partial_t u - \Delta b(u) + \text{div} \Phi(u) = g(x,t), \] \[ u _{t=0} = u_0(x), \qquad u _{\partial \Omega \times (0,T)} = a_0(x), \] in the case of nonhomogeneous boundary data \(a_0\). The problem is considered in a domain \(Q = \Omega \times (0,T)\), where \(\Omega\) is a bounded domain in \(\mathbb{R}^N\), \(T>0\). The function \(b\) is nondecreasing, \(\Phi\) is locally Lipschitz continuous, \(g \in L^{\infty}(Q).\) The uniqueness of a solution of this problem is demonstrated in the proposed setting. It is shown that ``entropy'' of a solution can be obtained as a limit of a sequence of solutions of regularized parabolic equations. The approach proposed for the Dirichlet problem of the elliptic-hyperbolic equation \[ u - \Delta b(u) + \text{div} \Phi(u) = \widetilde{g}(x),\quad x\in \Omega, \qquad u _{\partial \Omega} = a_0(x) \] is used.
