The main results of this paper are the following: (1) Necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of Hermitian solutions \({X_1}\) and \({X_2}\) of the matrix equations \({A_1}{X_1} = {C_1}\), \({X_1}{B_1} = {C_2}\), \({A_2}{X_2} = {C_3}\), \({X_2}{B_2} = {C_4}\), \({A_3}{X_1}A_3^ * + {A_4}{X_2}A_4^ * = {C_5}\) are given. (2) General expressions and extreme ranks of the mentioned solutions are established. The results use the matrix rank method and formulas (established previously in the paper) for the maximal and minimal ranks of the Hermitian matrix expression \({C_5} - {A_3}{X_1}A_3^ * - {A_4}{X_2}A_4^ * \), where \({X_1}\) and \({X_2}\) are Hermitian solutions of the systems of equations \({A_1}{X_1} = {C_1}\), \({X_1}{B_1} = {C_2}\), and \({A_2}{X_2} = {C_3}\), \({X_2}{B_2} = {C_4}\), respectively.
