The authors study the propagation of singularities for the initial value problem of the Schrödinger type equation \[ \partial_t u(t,x) + q^w(x,D)u(t,x)=0, \quad t \geq 0, \; x\in \mathbb{R}^d \] with initial condition \(u(0, \cdot) = u_0\), where \(u_0\) is a so-called Gelfand-Shilov distribution on \(\mathbb{R}^d\) and \(q^w(x, D)\) is a pseudodifferential operator in the Weyl quantization. This initial value problem is analyzed in the context of Gelfand-Shilov test function spaces; the corresponding notion of phase space singularities in this case is the s-Gelfand-Shilov wave front set. This set actually provides an enlarged notion of singularity. The authors' main result implies that the propagation of such phase space singularities is determined by the singular space of the quadratic form \(q\).
