    The author considers the functional equation \[ L(\psi_{\omega})=\sum_{j=1}^{\infty} a_j L(\psi_{\sigma^j \omega})+f(\psi_{\omega}), \tag{E} \] where \(f \in C([0,1])\), \(f(0)=f(1)=0\), is a given function, \(\omega=(i_1,i_2,\cdots,i_k,\cdots)\), \(i_k\in(0,1,\cdots,N-1)\), \(\sigma^j\omega=(i_{j+1},\cdots)\), \(\psi_{\omega}=\sum_{k=1}^{\infty} \frac{i_k}{N^k}\), and \(L\) is the unknown function. The main theorem reads as follows. Theorem: If \(\sum_{j=1}^{\infty} | a_j| <\infty\) and \(\sum_{j=1}^{\infty} | A_j| <\infty\) (\(A_0=0\), \(A_1=a_1\), \(A_j=\sum_{k=1}^j a_kA_{j-k}\)) then the equation (E) has a unique solution \(L\): \[ L(\psi_{\omega})=\sum_{k=1}^{\infty} A_k f(\psi_{\sigma^k \omega})+f(\psi_{\omega}). \]
