    The paper is concerned with a kinetic equation, derived in [\textit{M. Escobedo} and \textit{J. J. L. Velázquez}, Mem. Am. Math. Soc. 1124, iii-v, 105 p. (2015; Zbl 1329.35278)], that describes the long time behavior of solutions of the weak turbulence equation associated to the nonlinear Schrödinger equation \(iu_t=-\Delta u + \epsilon|u|^2u\) with \(\epsilon>0\) small. The main results are: {\parindent=6mm \begin{itemize}\item[1.] the existence of a global weak solution \(G:[0,\infty)\to{\mathcal M}_+([0,\infty])\) for initial data with finite energy; here \({\mathcal M}_+([0,\infty])\) is the space of finite non-negative Radon measures on \([0,\infty]\); \item[2.] the instantaneous onset of condensation, i.e.\ the mass of the origin is strictly increasing for nontrivial solutions, in particular it is positive for all \(t>0\); \item[3.] the existence of self-similar solutions where the energy is transferred to infinity in a self-similar way; \item[4.] stationary solutions with finite total mass are Dirac masses at the origin. \end{itemize}}
