    Stability and convergence issues are proved for the three-fields domain decomposition method introduced by \textit{S. Bertoluzza} and \textit{A. Kunoth} [IMA J. Numer. Anal. 20, 533-559 (2000; Zbl 0966.65076)]. Some quite general assumptions on the decomposition and the discretization spaces are only necessary to prove that the stability and convergence hold uniformly according both to the number of subdomains and their sizes. Similar results are provided for the resulting discrete Steklov-Poincaré operator.
