The new definition of the asymptotic structure of the (\(\mathcal {C, E, P}\))-algebras [see \textit{J.-A.\thinspace Marti}, ``(\(\mathcal {C, E, P}\))-Sheaf structures and applications'', Chapman Hall/CRC Res.\ Notes Math.\ 401, 175--186 (1999; Zbl 0938.35008) or ``Nonlinear algebraic analysis in delta shock wave to Burger's equation'', Pac.\ J.\ Math.\ 210, No.\,1, 165--187 (2003; Zbl 1059.35122)] which are a refinement of the Colombeau Generalized Algebras is employed to define a natural topology on them. Furthermore, this topology can be mixed with functorial aspects of the construction in order to give extension principles which give powerful tools to solve singular differential problems in this framework. The nonlinear generalization of unidirectional wave equation, which generally has no global solution, is used as an example. The author demonstrates that with the help of regularization, a global solution can be constructed in an (\(\mathcal {C, E, P}\))-algebra. One of the objectives of this paper is to convince readers that the (\(\mathcal {C, E, P}\))-algebras are not only a powerful algebraic machinery, but a richer concept containing topological and asymptotic structures. For more details on Colombeau generalized algebras, the reader may refer, for example, to [\textit{M.\,Nedeljkov, S.\,Pilipovic} and \textit{D.\,Scarpalézos}, ``The linear theory of Colombeau generalized functions'' (Pitman Research Notes in Mathematics Series 385; Harlow:\ Longman) (1998; Zbl 0918.46036)] or [\textit{M.\,Grosser, M.\,Kunzinger, M.\,Oberguggenberger} and \textit{R.\,Steinbauer}, ``Geometric Theory of Generalized Functions with Applications to General Relativity'' (Mathematics and its Applications 537; Dordrecht:\ Kluwer) (2001; Zbl 0998.46015)].
