Let \(S\) be a semigroup. Elements \(a,b\in S\) are pseudo-similar in the case there exist \(x,y\in S\) such that \(a=xby\), \(b=yax\) and \(x=xyx\). The author gives a series of characterizations of the pseudo-similarity concept.
