The authors deal with a type II superconducting very long cylinder in the vortex state with the applied magnetic field parallel to the cylinder. They consider the asymptotic estimate for \(\int | \Psi^{GL} |^4 \, dx\) instead of \(\int | \Psi^{GL} |^2 \, dx\), where \(\Psi^{GL}\) corresponds to the ground state given by the minimizer of the 2D Ginzburg-Landau functional. They evaluate the effect of the curvature of the superconducting cylinder's surface, and give a simple expression for the curvature effect. They show that the cylinder curvature affects the distribution of superconductivity.
