Since the maximum angle condition is not necessary for the convergence of the finite element method, the same authors presented an error estimate of linear Lagrange interpolation of a triangle in [Japan J. Ind. Appl. Math. 31, No. 1, 193--210 (2014; Zbl 1295.65011)]. Now the authors extend this result to higher-order Lagrange interpolation. A new a priori error estimate is derived, in which the error bound is expressed in terms of the diameter and circumradius of the triangle. No geometric condition on the triangle is imposed.
