In the paper under review the authors provide an alternative proof of a well-known result due to Borsuk, whose statement is the following. Let \(X\) be \(T_4\)-space, \(A\subset X\) be a closed subset and \(f:A\to K\) be a continuous mapping, where \(K\) is a compact subset of the complex plane, then \(f\) admits a continuous extension to the whole space \(X\) whenever \(K\) satisfies the following three conditions: \(K\) is connected, \(K\) is locally connected and \(\mathbb C\backslash K\) is connected. The proof is obtained, as the title suggest, by using Riemann's mapping theorem and Carathéodory's refinement.
