[For part I see ibid. 11, 86-94 (1983; Zbl 0512.62005).] The author deals with the geometric analysis of the mixture likelihood set for univariate exponential family densities yielding results which tie the number and location of support points for the nonparametric maximum likelihood estimator of the mixing distribution to sign changes in certain integrated polynomials. A corollary gives a very general uniqueness theorem for the estimator. The contents of the paper are presented nicely.
