Let \(E\) be an elliptic curve of conductor \(N\) defined over \(\mathbb Q\). For a prime \(p\) of good reduction for \(E\) (i.e. \(p\nmid N\)), let \(E_p\) be the reduction of \(E\) (modulo \(p)\). The author gives, unconditional and conditional, asymptotic formulas, for the function \[ h_E (x,\mathbb Q):=\#\{p\leq x, p\nmid N, a_p \neq 0\text{ and }\#E_p(\mathbb F_p) \text{ is square-free} \] in the case where the curve \(E\) has complex multiplication by the full ring of integers of an imaginary quadratic field. The proof is based on extensive study of the division field of elliptic curves with complex multiplication, the effective version of Chebotarev's density theorem and Brun-Titchmarsh theorem. The results are related to the problem of finding asymptotic formulas for the function for which the group \(E_p(\mathbb F_q)\) is cyclic or \(\#E_p(\mathbb F_p)\) is a prime number.
