The authors consider the structured backward errors for the case in which the approximate eigenvalues are complex, in the Hermite eigenproblem (i.e. all coefficient matrices are Hermite ones). They also show by numerical experiments that the difference between the unstructured backward error and the structured one can be sometimes large.
