A bounded linear operator \(T:E\rightarrow F\) acting on Banach lattices is called almost weak\(^{\ast }\) Dunford-Pettis if \ \(f_{n}(Tx_{n})\rightarrow 0\) for all disjoint weakly null sequences \((x_{n})_{n}\) in \(E\) and all disjoint weak\(^{\ast }\) null sequences \((f_{n})_{n}\) in \(F^{\ast }\). These operators extend both the weak\(^{\ast }\) Dunford-Pettis operators and the almost Dunford-Pettis operators. Necessary and sufficient conditions under which a positive almost weak\(^{\ast }\) Dunford-Pettis operator is weak\(^{\ast }\) Dunford-Pettis or almost Dunford-Pettis are indicated. As is mentioned in the erratum to this paper (see [ibid. 20, No. 3, 755 (2016; Zbl 1478.47036)]), the main results of this paper were previously obtained by other authors such as \textit{A. Elbour} et al. [``On the class of weak almost limited operators'', Preprint, \url{arXiv:1403.0136}] and \textit{N. Machrafi} et al. [Arab. J. Math. Sci. 21, No. 2, 136--143 (2015; Zbl 1336.46019)].
