Im Anschluß an die Arbeiten von \textit{Borel} (Ann. de l'Éc. Norm. 16, 26 ff.) und \textit{Lindelöf} (S. M. F. Bull. 17, 205, 1899) betrachtet Verf. zunächst die Gleichung (1) \(y'=P(x,y)/Q(x,y)\), worin \(P\) und \(Q\) Polynome sind, für reelle Veränderliche; er zeigt, daß alle Lösungen von (1) schließlich monoton sind, und bestimmt die möglichen Arten ihres Anwachsens für unbegrenzt wachsende \(x\) durch einfache asymptotische Formeln. Dieselben Resultate gelten im wesentlichen für die Gleichung (2) \(y^{\prime\mu}= P(x,y)/Q(x,y)\), wenn \(\mu\) ungerade ist. Sodann betrachtet Verf. die Gleichung (3) \(f(x,y,y')=0\) (\(f\) ein Polynom in \(x\), \(y\), \(y'\)). Er findet asymptotische Formeln -- genauere als die von \textit{Lindelöf} -- für die monotonen Lösungen, welche sich im Unendlichen wie Exponentialfunktionen verhalten, und zeigt, daß jede oszillierende Lösung schließlich dem absoluten Werte nach kleiner ist als eine Potenz von \(x\) (\(y=O(x^\varDelta)\)); insbesondere bleibt im Falle der Gleichung (2), wenn \(\mu\) gerade ist, jede oszillierende Lösung endlich (\(y=O(1)\)). Zum Schluß werden gewisse besondere Typen oszillierender Lösungen diskutiert. (Vgl. \textit{Boutroux}, Leçons sur les fonct. déf. par les équ. diff. du 1. ordre, Paris 1908; \textit{Kneser}, Math.
