Exponential splines are a generalization of (piecewise) univariate polynomial splines that correspond to linear differential operators of arbitrary order, constant coefficients and with a characteristic polynomial having distinct real zeros. Using these exponential splines, the authors estimate, and in some special cases compute, the Lebesgue numbers for uniform knots (of the exponential splines), so long as the mentioned characteristic polynomial has distinct real zeros.
