A non-isothermal phase separation governed by the Cahn-Hilliard equation \[ \partial_t\phi+ k_1\Delta(\varrho\Delta\phi- F_1'(\phi)- \alpha\partial_t\phi)= 0,\quad \alpha,\varrho, k_1> 0, \] is considered. This equation describes spinodal decomposition, in absence of mechanical stresses, of binary mixtures. Here \(\phi\) is the relative concentration difference of the mixture components, \(\varrho\) is related to the surface tension at the interface, \(k_1\) is the mobility, \(\alpha\) is a viscous parameter and \(F_1\) is a potential which accounts for the presence of different phases. A class of initial and boundary value problems whose local existence and uniqueness is proved (by means of a Faedo-Galerkin approximation scheme) is formulated. The local solution becomes global owing to suitable a priori estimates. Then the asymptotic behaviour of the solutions is analyzed and the existence of the finite dimensional global attractor and an exponential attractor is proved.
