This paper studies a membrane potential model of the parietal beta 1 rhythm in terms of its response to oscillatory inputs. The model consists of Hodgkin-Huxley type neurons of four different types. The authors show that a cell has the ability to respond simultaneously to two different periodic stimuli. They also show how the dynamics of two cells can be described by a simple model due to a rest that occurs in the state space when a cell fires.
