In [Mosc. Math. J. 5, No. 4, 869--881 (2005; Zbl 1215.11052)] \textit{Yu. I. Manin} continues his program to unify the theory of multiple zeta-values and the theory of modular symbols. To that end, certain iterated integrals were studied, establishing a map from a product of spaces of cusp forms to a non-abelian cohomology set. In contrast to the classical Eichler-Shimura setting, however, this map is not surjective, and antiholomorphic modular forms do not appear. The paper under review modifies Manin's approach using ideas concerning generalized Eichler maps as developed by \textit{M. I. Knopp} and \textit{H. Mawi} [Proc. Am. Math. Soc. 138, No. 2, 395--404 (2010; Zbl 1233.11058)]. In the end, they are able to exhibit an isomorphism between certain products of spaces of cusp forms and a non-abelian first cohomology set.
