This paper studies the classification of parabolic subalgebras. Let us recall that cominuscule parabolic subalgebras of simple finite dimensional Lie algebras play an important role in representation theory and in geometry. In this work, the authors first reexamine the definition of a parabolic subalgebra and nilradical. Then, they classify explicitly all cominuscule parabolic subalgebras of the complex simple finite dimensional Lie subalgebras.
