Let \(I\) be a homogeneous artinian ideal in \(S = K[x,y]\). From [\textit{J. Migliore} and \textit{F. Zanello}, J. Pure Appl. Algebra 210, No. 2, 465--471 (2007; Zbl 1118.13018)] it is known that \(S/I\) always has the weak Lefschetz property regardless of the characteristic of the field. Nevertheless, it is only known that \(S/I\) has strong Lefschetz property when the characteristic of the field is zero or larger than the regularity of \(S/I\) \textit{T. Harima} et al. [J. Algebra 262, No. 1, 99--126 (2003; Zbl 1018.13001)]. In the present paper, the author considers the strong Lefschetz property in the case where \(I\) is furthermore a monomial ideal. The general case can be reduced to the monomial ideal case by Proposition 2.8 in [\textit{A. Wiebe}, Commun. Algebra 32, No. 12, 4601--4611 (2004; Zbl 1089.13500)]. Now in the case of monomial ideal, the author proves that the strong Lefschetz property holds when the characteristic of the field is larger than the largest distance between two monomials of \(I\) of degree equal the regularity of \(S/I\). The author also considers some cases where the bound is sharp. Furthermore, he proves that \(S/I\) always has strong Lefschetz property regardless of the characteristic of \(K\) if and only if \(I\) is a lexsegment ideal.
