Let \(\mu\) be a positive Borel measure on the real axis, and let \(Z\in L^{\infty}_{\mathrm{loc}}({\mathbb R})\). Their local Hölder exponents are defined as \[ h_{\mu}(x):= \liminf\limits_{r\to +0}\frac{\log\mu(\{y: |y-x|<r\})}{\log r}, \quad h_{Z}(x):= \liminf\limits_{y\to x}\frac{\log |Z(y)-Z(x)|}{\log |y-x|}. \] The multifractal spectrum of a measure \(\mu\) is the function \(d_{\mu}(h):= \dim \{x: h_{\mu}(x)=h\}\), where \(\dim\) stands for the Hausdorff measure. The multifractal spectrum of a function \(Z\) is defined analogously. The authors solve the problem of the evaluation of measures and functions with prescribed multifractal spectra.
