Let \(K^n_{*}\) be the set of all non-degenerated compact convex subsets of \(\mathbb{R}^n\), and \(G\) be the group of all similarities of \(\mathbb{R}^n\). The authors construct a pseudometric in \(K^n_{*}\) such that 1) the distance between two sets is zero if and only if there exists \(g\in G\) that transforms one set onto the other; 2) the distance is invariant under similarities. The set of elements in \(K^n_{*}\) at distance zero from \(A\) with this pseudometric is the orbit of \(A\), and the orbit space is homeomorphic to the Banach-Mazur compactum. Besides, \(K^n_{*}\) is homeomorphic to \(Q \times \mathbb{R}^{n+1}\), where \(Q\) is the Hilbert cube \([0,1]^{\infty}\). The authors present some upper bounds for the distance between two sets involving the inradius, the circumradius and the diameter of the sets. This allows to obtain stability results. In the last part of the paper, it is shown how to construct a \(G\)-invariant pseudometric for convex bodies, where \(G\) is a closed subgroup of affinities containing the group of positive dilatations. The pseudometric is also compared with other distances.
