The authors continue earlier articles, e.g. the work [J. Fourier Anal. Appl. 11, No. 6, 669--681 (2005; Zbl 1122.42015)] by \textit{F. Brackx} and the last two authors. They start from four (more or less) classical definitions of the Fourier transform (exponential kernel; partial differential equation for the kernel; operator exponential; series definitions for the kernel) and ask for the structure of possible kernels in the Clifford setting. The study leads to a whole class of kernels given by series developments in terms of Gegenbauer polynomials and Bessel functions, differing for even and odd dimensions. The last section of the paper is devoted to the mapping properties of this new Fourier transform.
