Let \(E\) be an elliptic curve defined over a number field \(F\) and let \(E[n]\) be the set of \(n\)-torsion points, with \(E[\infty]:=\bigcup_n E[n]\). Moreover, let \(\pi:E\rightarrow \mathbb{P}^1\) be the double cover identifying points \(P\) and \(-P\). In a previous paper \textit{F. A. Bogomolov} and \textit{H. Fu} [Eur. J. Math. 2, No. 3, 644--660 (2016; Zbl 1355.14025)], for 2 elliptic curves \(E_1\) and \(E_2\), the authors show the equivalence \[ \pi_1(E_1[2]))=\pi_2(E_2[2])) \iff \# (\pi_1(E_1[\infty])\cap \pi_2(E_2[\infty]))=\infty \] and prove that a certain set \(L[\pm\delta^{\pm1}]-{\infty}\) is a field closed under taking square roots when \(\delta\neq 0,\infty,\pm 1,\pm i\) (the set \(L[a,b,c,d]\) is minimal in \(\mathbb{P}^1(\overline{\mathbb{Q}})\) so that \(\pi(E[2])\subseteq L[a,b,c,d] \Longrightarrow \pi(E[\infty])\subseteq L[a,b,c,d]\)). In the present paper the authors, mainly by means of direct computation on division polynomials for primes 3, 7, 11, 13 and 17, show the existence of elliptic curves with \[ \pi_1(E_1[2]))\neq\pi_2(E_2[2])) \;\;\text{and}\;\;\# (\pi_1(E_1[\infty])\cap \pi_2(E_2[\infty]))\geqslant 22 \] (thus improving on their previous bound 14). They also improve the description of \(L[\pm\delta^{\pm 1}]\) by showing that it is also close under taking cube roots.
