The author shows the validity of the Hodge conjecture for all products of surfaces \(S_{1}\times\cdots\times S_{n}\) with \(q(S_{i})=2,p_{g}(S_{i})=1\) for \(1\leq i\leq n\). In order to prove this, he first establishes the Hodge conjecture for arbitrary products of abelian suraces and elliptic curves by filling the cases missing in [\textit{B. J. J. Moonen} and \textit{Yu. G. Zarhin}, Duke Math. J. 77, 711--733 (1999; Zbl 0947.14005)]. Next he investigates the structure of a surface such that \(p_{g}=1,q=2\) and shows that the motive of such a surface is generated by motives of abelian surfaces and elliptic curves in the Tannakian sense, thereby he concludes the proof. In the final section he shows the Hodge conjecture for powers of a \(K3\) surface such that the endomorphism algebra (in the category of Hodge structures) of its trancendental lattice is a CM-field.
