\textit{Y. Kashina} conjectured [in Commun. Algebra 27, No. 3, 1261-1273 (1999; Zbl 0923.16032)] that if \(H\) is a semisimple Hopf algebra over an algebraically closed field \(k\), then the exponent of \(H\) divides the dimension of \(H\). The aim of this paper is to study the exponent of some semisimple (quasi-)Hopf algebras and to describe it in terms of group cohomology. The main results (Theorem 1.3, Theorem 1.4) prove that \(\exp(H)\) divides \(\dim(H)^2\) for a large class of semisimple (quasi-)Hopf algebras.
