The main result of this paper is the following: Theorem. Let \(\mathfrak{g}\) be an affine Lie algebra of rank greater than one, and \(\mathcal{P}=\mathcal{P}_0\oplus\mathfrak{n}\) a pseudo parabolic subalgebra of \(\mathfrak{g}\) with \(\mathcal{P}_0\) infinite dimensional. Then the induction from \(\mathcal{P}\) to \(\mathfrak{g}\) preserves irreducibility when restricted to the category of modules on which a generator of the \(1\)-dimensional center of \(\mathfrak{g}\) acts injectively. To prove the above theorem the authors establish an equivalence of certain categories of \(\mathcal{P}\)- and \(\mathfrak{g}\)-modules. This results generalizes and extends several previously known results.
