Consider a second order divergence form elliptic operator \(L\) on a strongly Lipschitz domain. The authors define a Hardy space by imposing that the non-tangential maximal function of a function \(f\) extended via the Poisson semigroup for \(L\) to be in \(L^1\). Then, they identify this maximal Hardy space with various classes depending on the boundary conditions imposed to the operator via a suitable characterization using the Poisson semigroup.
