Here the author discusses a conjecture of \textit{B. Fuglede} [J. Funct. Anal. 16, 101-121 (1974; Zbl 0279.47014)] on a necessary and sufficient condition for a bounded subset \(\Omega\) of \(\mathbb{R}^d\), of measure 1, to tile \(\mathbb{R}^d\) by translation. In that connection among other things, he proves that a convex, non-symmetric, bounded open subset \(\Omega\) of measure 1, of \(\mathbb{R}^d\) is not spectral. This theorem then generalizes a corresponding result of Fuglede for a triangle in \(\mathbb{R}^2\).
