An operad \(P\) is seen as a functor from the groupoid of finite sets and bijections to some symmetric monoidal category together with binary composition satisfying some natural axioms. An Hopf operad is an operad with a coassociative morphism of operads \(P\to P\otimes P\). One has such a structure on the monoidal category of vector spaces spanned by forests of leaf labelled rooted binary trees. An explicit formula for the coproduct (and its dual product) is given using a poset structure on the set of forests.
