Let \(V\) be a simple vertex operator algebra, and \(G\) a finite automorphism group. It is shown in [\textit{C. Dong} and \textit{G. Yamskulna}, Math. Z. 241, No. 2, 397--423 (2002; Zbl 1073.17009)] that every irreducible \(V\)-module is a completely reducible module for the vertex operator algebra \(V^G\) of \(G\)-invariants. In the paper under review, the author gives a construction of intertwining operators for irreducible \(V^G\)-modules which occur as submodules of irreducible \(V\)-modules by using intertwining operators for \(V\). He obtains lower bounds for the corresponding fusion rules. Using constructions from [\textit{I. B. Frenkel} and \textit{Y. Zhu}, Duke Math. J. 66, No. 1, 123--168 (1992; Zbl 0848.17032)] and upper bounds for fusion rules from [\textit{H. Li}, J. Algebra 212, No. 2, 515--556 (1999; Zbl 0977.17027)], the author determines certain fusion rules for vertex operator algebra \({\mathcal W}\) studied in [\textit{C. Dong, C. H. Lam, K. Tanabe, H. Yamada} and \textit{K. Yokoyama}, Pac. J. Math. 215, No. 2, 245--296 (2004; Zbl 1055.17013)].
