Quasimodular forms generalize modular forms and have been studied by many researchers in recent years in connection with various topics in number theory and geometry. This paper is concerned with quasimodular forms associated to moduli of elliptic curves and their de Rham cohomology groups. The author interprets differential equations of modular and quasimodular forms as vector fields on such moduli spaces, which can be determined from the corresponding Gauss-Manin connections. He uses period maps of elliptic integrals to relate such differential equations to hypergeometric functions. He also discusses connections of quasimodular forms with sections of jet bundles and describes some related enumerative problems.
