Support varieties for quantum groups (Q1966235): Difference between revisions

Let \(\mathbf u\) be the quantized restricted enveloping algebra of \(\mathfrak g\). For any finite dimensional \(\mathbf u\)-module \(M\), the variety \(|{\mathbf u}|_M\) is the support variety of the module \(M\). Let \(2a\) denote the codimension of \(|{\mathbf u}|_M\) in the nilpotent cone \({\mathcal N}\subset{\mathfrak g}\). The author gives a relation between the integer \(a\) and the dimension of \(M\). Moreover, he gives an a priori estimate for the support variety of a module belonging to a chosen linkage class. As an application, he computes the support varieties of Weyl modules. Another application is the calculation of the support varieties for tilting modules over the quantum group of type \(A_n\), which verifies Humphreys' conjecture concerning the support varieties of tilting modules and the Lusztig bijection between two-sided cells in the affine Weyl group and nilpotent orbits.
