As a continuation of [\textit{D. Beltran} and \textit{J. Madrid}, ``Endpoint Sobolev continuity of the fractional maximal function in higher dimensions'', Int. Math. Res. Not. rnz281 (2019), \url{doi:10.1093/imrn/rnz281})], the authors show that the map \(f \to \nabla M_\beta f\) is bounded and continuous from \(W^{1,1}(\mathbb{R}^d)\) to \(L^{d/(d-\beta)}(\mathbb{R}^d)\) if \(f\) is a radial function, where \(\beta\in (0,1)\) and \(M_\beta\) is the centered fractional maximal operator. The key estimate is the relation between the centered and non-centered fractional maximal function at the derivative level. For \(d = 1,\) the radiality assumption can be removed.
