The authors consider certain iterated function systems (bilinear fractal interpolants) connected with interpolation of continuous functions. They are the fixed points of appropriate Read-Bajraktarevic operators, see \textit{P. R. Massopust} [Fractal functions, fractal surfaces, and wavelets. Orlando, FL: Academic Press, Inc. (1994; Zbl 0817.28004)]. The authors prove that the graphs of the bilinear fractal interpolants are attractors of contraction with respect to corresponding metrics bilinear IFS, and present an explicit formula for the box-counting dimension of the graph of a bilinear fractal interpolant in the case of equally spaced data points.
